I’m tired of being the strong one in our dysfunctional family. Growing up, younger siblings counted on me being strong. To have the grit and strength to help them through abusive and life-altering situations.

Over the years, the strength to persevere became unshakable due to domestic violence and other life-altering events. I’ve never questioned or lost the ability to be the strong one.

Leaving your comfort zone is the pathway to a better life. Leaving your comfort zone challenges you to break past the boundaries of fear and gain the courage to seek a better life. 

Living in an abusive marriage and an unhealthy relationship caused fear, anxiety and emotional distress. Over time, I became trapped inside the comfort zone and stuck in a rut.

The feelings of inadequacy, low self-esteem, skepticism, and pessimism were overpowering. Living in despair with no hope for a better life was disastrous.

Grieving the Death of a Loved One

Grieving the death of a loved one is difficult, and the process is different for everyone. Some mourn for extended periods, while others recover from their loss, move forward. And some, like myself, build emotional walls to block the painful feelings altogether.

No matter your circumstance.

The Lord knows the pain you’re going through. He understands the inner turmoil and knows what’s troubling you. He grasps as each day passes; the pain comes and quickly fades for a moment.

Your mind becomes filled with reflections from the past. Thoughts bringing you joyous moments from a time now passed or sad and troublesome moments on which you dwell.
